It has been announced that there is going to be an new DragonBall movie based on the origins of the Saiyan race. The untitled movie will be the 20th film in the Dragon Ball series. The last movie installment in the franchise was Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F, which released in 2015.
At the annual anime festival Jump Festa in Japan, Toei Animation announced their plans for their 20th Dragon Ball film, which is expected to be released in December of next year. Toriyama will oversee the screenplay and character designs for the movie. Though no title has been set, the film will dive into the history of the Saiyan race while also exploring the mystery of Goku’s profound strength. The new movie will focus on “the origin of the Saiyans’ strength and what it means to be a Saiyan.”
Since Goku first transformed into the Super Saiyan God, fans have had plenty of questions about the origin of this power. Fans have also speculated that there could be other levels beyond Super Saiyan Blue. The new film could be a perfect opportunity for the creators to answer these questions and introduce even more aspects of Saiyan mythology.

Can we please stop using the world peace argument to defend Boruto? The argument falls apart on the structural level for several reasons, lets go into why that argument does not work at all
Star Trek already disproved the notion that world peace is an excuse to be boring
One of the greatest excuses for Boruto's stagnation is the claim that "the world is at peace, as a result there is no conflict". That premise was already disproven brutally by the Star Trek series where the premise is that there is world peace and so humanity is trying to explore the universe.
Lets compare the first episode of the most popular Star Trek series The Next Generation (TNG) with the first few episodes of Boruto (to equalize time spent. First TNG episode is 1.5 hours , each Boruto episode is 23:37 minutes).
The first episode of TNG expertly dives into the world of Star Trek while establishing a series long villain. The series uses the first half of the episode to establish the lore of their world. How humanity went through World War 3 and nuclear war, how humanity rose with the help of the Vulcans to create world peace and Starfleet. The way that this is done is by the series long villain putting the Enterprise crew on an inter-dimensional trial for the crimes of humanity.
The first few episodes establishes that it takes place 15 years after the events of Naruto Shippudden where the Illuminati esque Akatsuki organization attempted to take over the world and was repulsed by the Five Great Nation and Team 7. The focus of the show is on the children of the previous major character.
How does the two hold up? Not that well. Both are sequels to their original series with similar premises. But TNG already established their world peace background, a villain, and the fact that they can have conflict despite having world peace. Boruto did not establish a plot line villains, or anything else that makes a series interesting
THere was already world peace in Naruto and Naruto Shippudden
It's true, there was already world peace come the time of Naruto. There has not been a war between countries for over 12 years. Estimated 12 years as after the Third Ninja World War, the Third Hokage stepped down and Minato became hokage. Minato announced to Jiraiya that he was becoming Hokage, same time Kushina announced that she was pregnant with Naruto. At the time that the original series begins, Naruto is 12 years old (Databook).
The primary conflict (Orochimaru's invasion of Konoha) was perpetuated by a single person manipulating factions, not a country. Similar with Shippudden, no conflict was perpetuated by a country or faction, instead by an evil Illuminati esque organization trying to take over the world. To take this even further, when something went down, the countries of the world didn't start fighting each other, the banded together to solve the situation. That would not happen if the world was not at peace.
In fact, world peace was a major plot point to the first arc of Shippudden as the leadership of both Konoha and Suna (Sand Village) remarked that they disliked the fact that their youth has not had the taste of war or conflict due to peace and stability of the world.
To maximize the point, let's address the points of conflict in both Naruto and Naruto Shippudden.
Haku and Zabuza arc: trade corporation takes over Island nation and Team 7 frees it.
Chunnin Exam: Orochimaru and test
Orochimaru invasion: Oro takes over two countries and uses them to invade Konoha.
Itachi arc: Akatsuki
Tsunade becomes Hokage: Orochimaru.
Sasuke Retrieval Arc: Orochimaru sends his squad to bring Sasuke to him
This further establishes the point that there has been world peace, but a person or organization establishes itself as the overall villain. So can we please stop using the world peace excuse and simply admit that Boruto has to figure out what it ants to be?
It has been announced in a statement that the tremendously popular anime DragonBall Super will be entering an indefinite hiatus after the end of the Tournament of Power arc. Dragonball Super will be losing it's TV spot to Gegege no Kitaro starting April 1st.
There has been mass confusion as to the exact reason for why it is going on hiatus as it ranks among the top anime according to Nielson data with nearly every demographic. The most pervasive theory suggests that the producers want the DragonBall Super manga to catch up and exceed the anime.
Fuji TV has released a statement in a local newspaper saying “Thanks for always supporting us! The TV series Dragon Ball Super’s Universe Survival arc finally reaches its climax at the end of March, so please support us to the end! There’s also a movie this December too! The Dragon Ball series will continue on, so look forward to it!”
Hopefully we will be able to fill our Dragonball void with the upcoming season of Attack on Titan
